Julia, Thom, and Anthony take one last trip back into the episodes of yesteryear with the Ghost of Christmas Past to once again cover the Hap-Hap-Happiest Griswold Family Christmas there's ever been in 1989's National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! The hosts have got a lot of stuff to celebrate in this quote-filled episode, other than just discussing one of the greatest holiday movies of all time, of course, including the Ber Months being right around the corner, Christmas getting closer, Marvel's upcoming Phase 4 slate, and the show's 2-year anniversary fast approaching! 110: Now That's What I Call A Tis The Podcast Christmas: Volume 1

In this old school, radio show/variety hour inspired bonus episode, Julia, Thom, and Anthony are preparing for their annual Christmas in July party up at Tis the Podcast Headquarters when a massive snow storm hits. Determined to keep busy while waiting for their guests to show up, and doing their best not to worry about the fact that the snow may impede their arrival, the elves decide to pass the time by singing some of their favorite Christmas Carols in order to keep the holiday cheer alive.

*Please note, we are well aware that we are not professional singers, but we decided to channel Buddy the Elf and spread "Christmas Cheer by Singing Loud for All to Hear" this episode and try something different. A lot of blood, sweat, tears, laughs, and late nights went into this episode, so please be gentle with us! Having said that, if you liked our singing so much that you want mp3s of the songs featured in this episode - or hated it so much you want to annoy your family or friends by playing them - visit our Patreon page at https://patreon.com/tisthepodcast to download them, in addition to an unedited video recording of this episode and lots of other goodies!*

*Special Thanks to our Guest Stars (and Singers!) who volunteered their time to take part in this episode:

109: If Something Should Happen To Me, Put On My Suit; The Reindeer Will Know What To Do. (The Santa Clause Revisited)

The elves continue their stroll down memory lane as they revisit 1994's Christmas classic, The Santa Clause, staring Tim Allen. After nearly two years, do the three hosts still have the same love for the film they once did, or has time jaded their views? Find out as you listen and learn about a new contest to win some holiday goodies!

*Warning to parents who listen to this show with their young children: please be advised that some Christmas truths that might spoil the magic of the holidays are discussed in this episode, so you may want to have your kids skip this one!*

108: Would You Please Tell Him That Instead Of Presents This Year, I Just Want My Family Back. (Home Alone Revisited)

This week, the elves travel back in time with the Ghost of Christmas Past to revisit Chris Columbus' Home Alone. How does this beloved Christmas classic fare the second time around? Do the elves wish they gave it more love the first time they reviewed it, or has it inched closer to the naughty list? Crank that A/C, settle in with a cup of hot chocolate, and find out!

106: Nothing Is Forever. (Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July)

This week, patron and friend of the show, Gerry Davilla joins Julia, Thom, and Anthony to discuss The Avengers-esque, Crisis-on-Infinite-Earths type, 1979, grand finale crossover event, Rankin/Bass' 1979 theatrical film, Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July. Together, the four hosts try their hardest to make sense of the completely out there plot, which retcons Rudolph-the-Red-Nosed-Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, and Santa Claus is Comin' to Town while introducing a complex mythology for the North Pole that introduces the evil wizard, Winterbolt, the queen of the northern lights, Lady Boreal, and a neglected, drugged-up looking reindeer called Scratcher. Filled with tons background information on Rankin/Bass, A+ impressions, terrible singing, and plenty of bafflement to go around, this is one hilarious episode that you definitely do not want to miss! So blast that air conditioning, make yourself a cup of hot cocoa, sit back, and enjoy while reveling in the fact that we're now officially closer to this Christmas than we are to last Christmas.

Happy Leon Day! We're officially halfway to Christmas, and the elves couldn't be more excited. To celebrate, they've come together for a very special episode just in time for the release of Toy Story 4 - one in which they discuss the made-for-TV special, Toy Story That Time Forgot. In Trixie, The Battlesaurs Are Not Playing!, the elves share their love of all things Toy Story as they discuss the holiday special Toy Story That Time Forgot.

103: You Can Change Everything Except The Most Important Thing - Fate. (12 Dates of Christmas)

This week, Julia, Thom, and Anthony are joined by fellow Christmas podcaster, and loyal listener and patron of the show, Todd Killian of Christmas Clatter Podcast to cover a movie of his choice: the 2011, ABC Family original film, 12 Dates of Christmas! How does this movie stack up against the other two holiday Groundhog Day films - Pete's Christmas and Christmas Every Day - the elves have covered so far? Does the presence of Amy Smart ruin this Christmas comedy for our hosts? Do ABC Family holiday movies even hold a candle to Hallmark ones? Tune in to find out the answer to these questions, along with how you can pick a movie and cohost an episode with the elves! This is an all around fun episode that's sure to shake you from those summertime blues - you don't want to miss it!

102: It's A Major Award! (A Christmas Story Live!)

This week, join Julia, Thom, and Anthony as they cover the musical adaption of a beloved holiday classic, A Christmas Story Live!, as originally broadcast by Fox in December 2017. Will it fare better with Thom and Julia than the original version did? Did the elves actually enjoy the musical numbers? Settle in, relax, and enjoy this hilarious episode that is sure to stir some controversy amongst fans of the original movie!

101: Switched For Christmas (2017)

To kick off the month of June, and the countdown to Leon Day, Julia, Thom, and Anthony dive back into the realm of Hallmark Christmas movies and cover the 2017 film, Switched for Christmas, starring the Queen of Hallmark, Candace Cameron Bure. It's a battle of the sexes this episode, with Thom and Anthony (in rare form and agreement!) on one side sharing a dislike for this movie, and Julia on the other trying to give it a fair shake. But can the elves at least agree that there's an abundance of holiday atmosphere and a Linus moment? Also discussed this episode are the elves' opinions on when it starts feeling like Christmas to them! Enjoy!

99: We Talk A Lot About Tradition This Time Of Year, But As Much As We Love Our Traditions, Sometimes Our Best Memories Come From The Times That Are The Most Untraditional. (Modern Family)

This week, all three elves are back together again to cover the five Christmas episodes of ABC's hit comedy, Modern Family! A lot of ground is covered this week, as we talk about America's favorite blended family, in addition to discussing America's sexiest accents, Douglas Fir vs. Fraser Fir Christmas trees, Mel Gibson's upcoming holiday comedy Fat Man, and FX's A Christmas Carol miniseries amongst many other things! Pour yourself a hot cocoa, relax, enjoy, and revel in the fact that we are 40% of the way through the year, and all that much closer to Christmas!

98: Giving Christmas Gifts Is Like A Sport To Me. Finding Or Making That Perfect Something. It’s Also Like A Sport To Me Because I Always Win. (Parks and Recreation/Avengers: Endgame)

Due to some scheduling issues this week, not only was our original plan to cover the Christmas episodes of Modern Family pushed back a week, but Thom was sadly unable to make the recording of this episode due to travel for work! As such, Julia and Anthony right a wrong that listeners pointed out after our previous episode dropped, and cover "Citizen Knope", Parks and Recreation's fourth-season Christmas episode that we somehow missed when covering the other holiday episodes of the comedy last week! What we thought was only going to be a short mini-episode, however, turns into a supersized one, when the two elves turn their attention to Avengers: Endgame and delve into the movie in great, spoilerly, loving detail! Don't worry though - for those of you who haven't seen the film yet, the Parks and Rec half of the episode is completely spoiler free, and afterward, fair warning (and a musical cue!) is given before talk switches to grand-finale of the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far. While a break from the show's normal format, this is one episode you definitely do not want to miss, so settle in with your favorite Christmassy beverage, relax, and enjoy!
